On February 10th, Bedford Lighting had its fifteen (well, maybe two) minutes of fame during its television debut on the the HGTV series Property Brothers. The contractor Jonathan Scott sent his clients, Craig and Laurel, shopping for lighting while he and his twin brother Drew concentrated on renovating the couple's new real estate purchase into their dream home. Craig and Laurel were very dedicated to finding exactly what they wanted, but selecting a fixture to match their dining room was matched by our own dedication to sending our customers home happy.

Laurel first hedged towards crystal while Craig advocated for wrought iron — two styles that are a world apart. They finally agreed on a chandelier from the "Lumiere" collection by Feiss. A boxy, crosshatched design fitted with seedy glass is the perfect showcase for four vintage lightbulbs that have become so popular in today's aesthetic. The wood, rope-covered stems and black chain are rustic enough for Craig, while the minimalist shape and textured glass lets it play with Laurel's clean and timeless aesthetic.

What you might miss in the episode is Craig and Laurel's pick for their new great room: a "Dakota" chandelier from Justice Design. The candle-like resin shades provide warmth while matching the old world appeal of the room's hewn stone fireplace. It's another fixture that strikes a balance between personality and simplicity, and was a fantastic choice for a new family with decades of happiness ahead of them.

Like Drew and Jonathan, my own Drew and I often meet with people who have a dream, who have imaginations, and who can recognize what they want — and what they don't. We hope you choose Bedford Lighting to help you discover what's possible with your own space, and what you can do to transform it into the home you've been dreaming of.
